What does the "PR" mean?

(back to Frequently Asked Questions)  (back to Cyrix/IBM 6x86 FAQs)  What does the "PR" mean?

The "PR" stands for Performance Rating.  You will see it refered to as the PRating, PR Rating, PR System, etc.  They all mean the same thing.

The "PR" appears in front of all number ratings on 6x86 chips.  This systems was set up because a 6x86 PR150+ runs at 120 MHz, but runs like a Pentium at 150 MHz.
